Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Autonomous, including the website, the connection service and the program installed on your computer.
Last updated September 26, 20261. The service
Autonomous connects an AI assistant to a computer you pair with your account. The service routes authorized tool calls to that computer, where a local agent can read or change files, search content, run commands, inspect processes and perform other tools exposed by the installed agent.
The cloud service handles identity, authorization, routing, quotas, connection state and short-term call records. The local agent performs computer actions on the paired machine.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must have legal capacity to enter into these terms or use the service through an organization that authorizes you.
- You are responsible for keeping passwords, API keys, device credentials and connected-client access secure.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account, including instructions sent by an AI assistant you authorize.
- You must promptly revoke access, rotate credentials or unpair a machine if you reasonably suspect compromise.
3. Computers and authorization
You may connect only computers and data that you own or are lawfully authorized to access. You must not use Autonomous to bypass another person’s security, permissions or technical restrictions.
The local agent includes configurable filesystem boundaries and command protections. These controls reduce risk but do not make the machine a sandbox. If AUTONOMOUS_ALLOWED_DIRS is left unrestricted, filesystem tools may be able to reach any location allowed by the operating-system user running the agent.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use Autonomous to:
- access systems, accounts, devices or data without authorization;
- deploy malware, steal credentials, evade security controls or intentionally damage systems;
- violate law, another person’s rights, privacy or intellectual property;
- attack, probe or overload Octamundi infrastructure, or bypass authentication, quotas or rate limits;
- misrepresent the service as your own hosted service or resell access without written authorization where one is required.
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to stop abuse, protect users or infrastructure, comply with law or investigate a material breach of these terms.
5. Connected AI services
ChatGPT, Claude and other AI assistants are third-party services. When you connect one, it receives the tool results necessary for the calls it makes. Its provider’s own terms, privacy practices and product limitations apply separately. Octamundi does not control the model’s instructions or decisions.
6. Plans, quotas and payment
Plans may apply one or more rolling usage windows and may include temporary or permanent credits. A billable call is counted according to the current service rules. Capacity returns as recorded calls age out of the applicable rolling window.
Paid plans are purchased through a checkout page hosted by Stripe. Card data is handled by Stripe and is not processed or stored by Autonomous. Your plan changes once Stripe confirms the payment or the subscription change, and it returns to the free plan when a subscription ends or is no longer paid.
Any price, renewal, cancellation or refund terms presented during purchase form part of these terms. Nothing in this section limits mandatory rights that apply under consumer law. Autonomous does not charge a payment method merely because a quota is exhausted.
7. Service changes and availability
We work to keep Autonomous available, but unless a separate written service-level agreement says otherwise, the service is provided without a guaranteed uptime. We may modify tools, limits, technical requirements or features as the product evolves. When a change materially affects an active paid service, we will provide reasonable notice where practical.
8. Your content and our software
You keep the rights you already have in files, commands and other content processed through your computer. You grant Octamundi only the limited permission necessary to transmit, store and process that content to provide and secure Autonomous.
Autonomous software, branding, documentation and service infrastructure remain owned by their respective rights holders. These terms do not transfer intellectual-property ownership to you.
9. Security responsibility
You are responsible for choosing appropriate folders, operating-system permissions, commands, backups and connected AI clients for your risk level. Before using write or process-control tools on important systems, maintain current backups and review your local configuration.
Security information and current boundaries are described on the Security page.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Autonomous is provided on an as-available basis and we do not promise that every AI instruction, command, integration or third-party service will be accurate, safe, uninterrupted or error-free.
To the extent permitted by law, Octamundi is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or loss caused solely by an instruction or action you authorized a connected client to execute. Where a monetary liability cap is legally permitted and no separate agreement provides another cap, aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for Autonomous during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
11. Ending use
You may stop using Autonomous at any time by revoking connected clients, unpairing computers and ceasing use of the service. Account closure and deletion requests can be initiated through Support. We may terminate or suspend access for a material breach, unlawful use, security risk or as otherwise permitted by law.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes what data is processed, why it is processed, retention periods, recipients and your rights.
13. Governing law
Brazilian law applies where applicable. Mandatory consumer law, data-protection rights and rules that determine a competent court or venue are not displaced by these terms.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the product changes. The current version and update date will be published here. Questions about these terms can be initiated through Support or by email at autonomousmcp@gmail.com.
